MISSION, VISION, VALUES AND OBJECTIVES

The PPGQUIM's mission is to provide comprehensive and in-depth scientific and cultural training to faculty, researchers, and professionals in Chemistry at the Master's level, equipping them to work in higher education institutions, research centers, and industries.

The vision of PPGQUIM is to strengthen and consolidate research groups and areas, contributing to institutional, regional, and national development.

The values of PPGQUIM are: commitment, ethical and social responsibility, cooperation, and innovation.

To achieve this, PPGQUIM aims to provide high-quality training to professionals in the fields of chemistry and related areas.

The main objectives of PPGQUIM are:

1 - To train qualified human resources for higher education teaching and research in the field of Chemistry, considering the lack of courses in the South and Extreme South of Bahia.

2 - To encourage research in the field of Chemistry, particularly concerning the environment, aiming for better integration between Higher Education Institutions, natural resources, and the population.

3 - To produce and disseminate knowledge in the field of Chemistry, always striving for high-quality specialized journals.

4 - To stimulate the integration of teaching, research, and outreach, disseminating and applying knowledge gained from research in undergraduate and graduate courses, and collaborating, whenever possible, in university extension projects.

5 - To improve the conditions for teaching, research, and outreach through new financial resources from projects to be implemented.

6 - To enhance faculty training for graduate students through Teaching Internships and improve undergraduate Chemistry education with the simultaneous participation of both graduate students and the faculty member responsible for the course.

7 - To promote contact with the environment by placing graduate students in situations where they can apply chemistry for the conservation and rational use of environmental resources, while seeking applications for their research.

8 - To promote increased exchange between UESC and other institutions from both the public and private sectors.
