LABORATORIES
Laboratory of Biotransformation and Organic Biocatalysis (LaBioCat)
Available area of approximately 80 m². This laboratory is coordinated by Professor Dr. Marcelo Franco. It is equipped with benches, ovens, laminar flow chambers, incubators with temperature and agitation control, autoclave, water activity determinator, balances, UV-vis spectrophotometers, water baths, thermostatic baths, microscopes, centrifuges, vacuum pumps, and other basic equipment for research development in chemistry, food science, microbiology, and biotechnology.
LaBioCat is a laboratory specialized in solid-state fermentation, nanotechnology, biodegradation, food production, and biofuels. It focuses on solving practical problems directly, promoting sustainability through the reuse of agro-industrial waste while generating high-value products for the market, within the concepts of Circular Economy.
