Laboratory of Applied Analytical Chemistry (LQAA)
Located in the Max de Menezes Pavilion, room 02, with 60 m2, the LQAA encompasses research in the area of Analytical Chemistry, including the development of analytical methods applied to samples of interest to food, the environment and energy.
Large equipment: VARIAN model AA240 FS flame atomic absorption spectrometer (FAAS), Aurora atomic fluorescence spectrometer with a hydride generator system (HG-AFS), AGILENT Microwave Induced Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (MP OES), are installed and operating in the laboratory.
Small equipment: orbital shaker for flasks, analytical balance, water bath heaters, sample digestion block, vacuum pump, drying and sterilization ovens, desktop computers, notebooks, laser printers, water purification system with distiller and reverse osmosis deionizer, microwave oven, mini sample processor, 240 L vertical freezer, refrigerators, portable digital dissolved oxygen meter, turbidimeter, multi-parameter meter for field water analysis, portable pH meter, benchtop pH meter, Themo Scientific molecular absorption spectrophotometer model aquamat plus.
The team includes researchers Dr. Fábio Alan Carqueija Amorim, Dr. Erik Galvão Paranhos da Silva, Dr. Daniel de Castro Lima, Dr. Luana Novaes Santos, as well as several scholarship students, at the high school/technical (IC-EM), undergraduate (IC and TCC) and postgraduate (master's and doctorate) levels.
